Who Can I Refer—and What Counts as a Valid Business Sign-Up?

The Affordable Housing Insiders referral program rewards you for bringing new organizations into our community. This article explains exactly who you can refer—and what qualifies as a valid sign-up that earns you commission.

👥 Who Can You Refer? #

You can refer any organization, business, developer, nonprofit, or consultancy working in or supporting affordable housing. This includes:

  • Property management companies
  • Resident service providers
  • Developers and architects
  • Policy, finance, and compliance consultants
  • Technology and software vendors
  • Housing authorities and non-profit housing agencies

✅ What Counts as a Valid Sign-Up? #

To earn a commission, a referred business must:

  • Purchase a paid business membership
  • Remain active for at least 31 days
  • Complete payment with no chargebacks or refunds

Free member sign-ups are welcome, but only paid business memberships qualify for referral payouts.

🚫 Who You Can’t Refer #

To keep things fair, the following types of referrals do not count for commissions:

  • Yourself (yes, you CAN refer your own organization)
  • Any sign-up made using your email address, credit card, or IP address
  • Businesses that already have an account with us

We reserve the right to audit and disqualify any fraudulent or self-referral activity. Integrity matters—and the goal is to grow the real network.
